Better Breathers is a monthly drop-in support group

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) can contribute to anxiety, shortness of breath, excessive coughing and phlegm, limited activity and mobility, and more.

If you are struggling with COPD and how to manage such problems, these programs can help!

Three Lung Health Programs

BETTER BREATHERS: Join this drop-in COPD support/social group, which runs the 3rd Thursday of every month from 1-2 pm. Open to the public!

CPAP CLINIC: CPAP (Continuous Positive Aairway Pressure) is a machine that uses mild air pressure to keep breathing airways open while you sleep. This CPAP Clinic can help you maximize the benefits of your machine. Drop by anytime on the 3rd Thursday of every month.

COPING WITH COPD: ON HOLD. This 4 week IN PERSON workshop is led by a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Social Worker. Next group start TBD.

COPD topics include:

  • Understanding COPD
  • Medication review
  • Breathing techniques and exercises
  • Strategies for coping with stress and anxiety
  • Improving mobility
  • Nutrition and COPD, with a Registered Dietitian
  • Physical Activity, with a Registered Kinesiologist

COPD Exercise Group Programs are also available learn more.

Individual sessions can be set up with the respiratory therapist, if needed. Caregivers are welcome to register as well.
