COPD Groups for Lung Health

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) can contribute to anxiety, shortness of breath, excessive coughing and phlegm, limited activity and mobility, and more.

If you are struggling to keep active with COPD and how to manage such problem, these programs can help! Join our Registered Respiratory Therapist and her allied health team for these COPD programs.

  • COPD EXERCISE GROUP – a 12 week educational and exercise program to help you manage your COPD.
  • COMBATTING COPD – after you complete the COPD EXERCISE GROUP, you can join this weekly drop-in class to help you keep on moving with COPD: Mondays at 11 am
  • COPING WITH COPD: This 4 week IN PERSON workshop is led by a Registered Respiratory Therapist with guest sessions with our Registered Social Worker, Registered Dietitian and Registered Kinesiologist.

These group programs cover:

  • Understanding COPD
  • Medication review
  • Breathing techniques and exercises
  • Strategies for coping with stress and anxiety
  • Improving mobility
  • Nutrition and COPD, with a Registered Dietitian
  • Physical Activity, with a Registered Kinesiologist
